Does anybody have a 2-1 thunderheader with heat shields that did not blue or yellow, basically look like $hit. I have a carbed 04 RK that I'm doing some motor work on, cams 95" heads ported polished heads, So while i'm at it I might as well go with a 2-1 for performance. I'm currently running duels with thunderheader slipons. Love the th's sound, My slipons have not discolored at all. I don't think I have ever seen a th 2-1 that was not discolored. Love the looks of the d&d fatcat but don't like their raspy tone, Pretty much out of the question. Would like to hear a Drago's 2-1 like the looks just wan't to hear one. Any comments would be appriciated.
The heat sheilds on my old Heritage never discolored during the 2 years I had my Thunder Header.
If you really want a 2/1 you might also consider a pipe from Drago's bikeworks. They are ceramic coated inside and out so if you have a good tune they should never discolor...
I have RB's LSR 2-1. I friggin live it, however their customer service BLOWS. The lady you will be dealing with (Lynn) is very polite and helpful until they get your money. Then they will give you excuse after excuse why you still haven't gotten anything. It takes about 3 months. That aside, it's a great exhaust. Amazing sound and performance gains.
my TH heatshields have never blued?? My muffler gets a little soot at the end but cleans right up very easy. If you dont run heat shields then yes you will see blue and other colors on the head pipes. I have had the TH 2-1 on all my bikes and never had a color issue but maybe im lucky??

I am running Thunderheader 2-1 with heat shields on the pipes, no issues. I put the shields on when I did a new paint job with stretched bags tank and rear fender. Prior to that the pipes were blued and it didn't look nice at all. Get all 3 shields, it is worth it.
