Default Snap ring install?

Anyone ever install snap rings before on exhaust. Any trick info?

Be sure toslide the plate on the pipe first. Good snap ring (or circlip) pliers will make the job much easier.

I don't think they have holes in themfor snap ring pliers. You can pry them off with a screwdriver and put them back on with regular pliers or vice grips.

There is a pair of "snap ring" pliers that have a pair of flat blades made for this type of ring. Most automotive stores have these. You might try Northern tools as you will have limited use for these.

dang never thought of that a piston ring spreader would work. I could have been saving wear and tear on my fingers.

Yeah. Piston ring expander works best. I use a Craftsman item number 9-4662.
