Hey MegaHDman and everyone. I got good news today. I've been waiting for my Street Bob bike to be delivered in late Feb but today I got a call from my dealer (LA Harley) saying they were taking delivery of an Extra StreetBob tomorrow and it was mine if I wanted it. I Do. Anyway within this thread I was talking about doing some minor mods to my bike just to open it up a bit while I planned my 98' build 8 to 10 months down the road. I've gotten some sound advice and am about to act on it but before I do I have a couple more questions. What the differents between the powercommander, Daytona twin tec WEGOII (TWIN SCAN 88+) SE SERT and the like? Also before FI I use to have some skills working on my own bikes but nowadays I might as well be a cheerleader (don't go there) Anyway can I do this or should a pro do these mods for me?

LOL! Im sorry, the title says Thunderhead exhaust, but you didnt ask anything specific on it! lol!

The Daytona Twin Tec WEGOII is nothing more than an air fuel ratio monitor. It shows you your a/f curve in real time. Its a great tuning aid, something you should get. If you get the Twin scann 88+ then buy the SE SERT tuner, the twin scan 88+ combined with the SE SERT will make for a great tuning tool. No dyno time will be needed, you can tune the bike in your own time without worrying about that oh so expensive hourly cost.

The Powercommand is just a fueler that overrides your computers fuel program. If money is a concern and you are having someone tune the bike for you, this may be a better bet because most places can use the powercommnander satisfactory.

Personally I would get the Twin scan 88+ and WEGOII combo(the one WITH the LCD readout) and a SE SERT. You will spend more money up front, but save alot of money down the road, especially everytime you do a motor upgrade.

Yeah sorry about the thread title but we found ourselves talking about these things early in this same thread so I Just kept the thread going sort of speak. So a moron (me) could read the LCD and tune the bike myself with just the Cycle shack slip ons, AC, and Daytona Twin tec and SERT? Thanks

I have a 05 RK with SERT, SE AC, 95 big bore kit and had the thunderheader slipons over stock headers. I now have change to the Rhinehart true duals. I like the sound of the THs better but haven't noticed any perfermance degredation with the change.

the TH are a great set of pipes. I have my TH slipons for sale if anyone is interested. (I know this is not the sale forum).

I have a TH 2 to 1 on my bagger and at 100 hp it's too loud. I'm going to cut the muf. section off and install a supertrapp ss muf.
$167 at Summit racing...22 discs and closed end - good sound and power...
