I am still very new to the Harley scene and have a ton of research to do as to what head and cam configuration to go with the 95 inch kit. This site alone has provided a wealth of information. I am obviously looking for the most bang for my buck but I'm looking to get somerealistic numbers. I would be very happy with mid to high 90's for hp and tq numbers. Not even sure if this isattainable for the amount of money I am looking to spend.Again, I am new and appreciate all of the replies.
Mid 90's on what your budgeting is with in reach if you do your own work. I don't think you would go wrong if you chose Hillside Kingofcubes or Head Quarters they all could hook you up with something that would put a smile on your face each time you twisted the throttle. Your best bet it to call one of those folks and ask some questions.

Like KingofKubes, my porting was done with velocity as the goal. The SE Performance Heads meant some extra money spent over my stock heads, but far less expensive than the S&S heads commonly used in my build. Considering that in the end, I can gain torque over comparable OE head builds, vs. a few more shiny pieces on the bike, I'm more than pleased with the results of having the SE heads ported.

I have used several sets of Bigboyz heads with excellent results in builds like you describe, some of the others may be more than you really need, you need to ask yourself what rpm you ride at, where you really need the power, I have also used HQ cams and love em, havent tried Dougs heads yet but he is definatley no rookie. A couple of other things to consider is when you have your stock heads reworked you will know exactly what you have, chamber cc etc, also, the stock heads retain that "Stealth" appearance, I never did care much for the the "Screamin Eagle" logo on the side of the heads. And one more thing, dont be scared to work on it yourself, these forums are an awesome tool for the do it yourselfer and dont forget to geta decent tune or all the money spent on parts wont mean squat.

What about boring your jugs and porting the heads, and a cam later if you want it.I know every one says do it all at once but if your on a budget you don't really need any special tools (Ring compressortorque wrench).just wondering what the experts think.

I would rather see you do the big bore and cam and heads later. The RR525 will allow you to do this quite well.

I prefer Head-Quarters, but the GMR / R&R heads Bryan refers to are also very good and would also be high on my list.

There are quite a few professional head re-workers out there today.Do some research and make some calls to them and see if they are on the same page as you as to what you want and at what rpm. you want it at.Some very respectable names have answered your post so give them all a shout and talk one on one to them.Don`t just jump on the first name you hear.I have a lot of respect for these fellows who know how to make them run.IMO ,if it weren`t for these elite individual and teams of machinists and R&D people-most harley`s on the road would be just over priced ,ordinary, underpowered v-twins.I had one,it came that way!Toby
