I am thinking of going with these cams as a bolt in cam on my 08 street glide but haven't really heard anything about them. I know head-quarters maks some sick $hit and I figured their bolt in cam would be of the same caliber just wondering if anybody is running them or if maybe they had a better cam idea just looking for something to complement my 2 into 1 and air cleaner any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Tom
The TC 500 is the same as Headquarters 0034 for previous years, I have not heard of anyone that disliked this cam. It works good in a stock motor and later on down the line it will work with a little more compression 10 to 1 or a few more cubes, I just did the Andrews conversion and used this cam(had a guy cut itdown and install a race) havent drove it yet but did lots of homework and searched and read everything I could find. Yes, that is correct, I found a guy that has the cam precision ground to install a race for the Torrington B148 bearings, he can have any cam that you would like ground to work in the Andrews conversion so if you were thinking about doing it but did not want to be married to the Andrews Cams here is your way to still do it. Pm me if you want his address
The most important thing to keep in mind is how all of your parts work together. Each cam has it's sweet spot as far as compression goes. So you may find yourself replacing gaskets or even pistons. Youshould think about having your heads worked over if you are looking for optimum numbers. You will find that the biggest gains are found in the heads.I would call Dougat HQ to discuss the details he willtell you what you need.
Big Tom: I have the HQ-0034's (same cam profile as the HQ 500) in my otherwise bone stock 88 w/Rinehart TD's and SE a/c--it's very fast reving on my EG. With exhaust and intake improvements, your 96 will really wake up with the HQ 500.
