Hello
I am the new guy on the block GREETINGS!
I am rebuilding a 99 Evo engine, had to replace the flywheel assembly. Does any one know how to set the timing up?
I have set the timing line on the flywheel at TDC but the cam dot is not lining up on the dots of the pinion gear. Can anyone help me?
When I set up all the dots on the cam with the breather gear and pinion shaft, the flywheel is almost on BDC
You're right. The TDC & Front cyl timing dot on the flywheel are for referencing TDC and Front cyl dot for timing with a timing light. The marks on the cam, breather and pinion, do not have to line up with the flywheel marks, they only need to align with themselves.
