06 RKC noisey as heck tranny

Default 06 RKC noisey as heck tranny

I have roadking custom with factory 5 speed.When down shifting it sound like its full of rocks and klunks like hell most all gears.Especaily 2nd to first.Anyone else have this or know a cure short of new baker 6 speed,like i need a lot of reason for that change over.

don't know what type of oil your using but I would make sure the clutch is adjusted to spec. replace the trans fluid with oil of your choice. alot of guys use 75/90 wt and are happy with the results. its only a bunch of gears, so I wouldn't get the best oil made, but you can use what you like. One thing I've gotten used to doing that helps cut down on the clunk you get when shifting is to keep light pressure on the shifter just before shifting, so when you pull the clutch in, it just falls quietly into gear. theres no need to use exsessive pressure when shifting. hope this helps.,,,
