Just wanted to start a new topic for those who are considering pipes / aircleaner / EFI tuning. I was really on the fence about doing aircleaner / tune when I installed V&H Big shots in my own grage last week. I really just wanted sound but was concerned about engine damage due to lean condition. At the recommendation of the Dealership here in Wichita, I had them install a Screamin' Eagle air cleaner, and do a custom dyno tune using the SERT (Screamin' Eagle Race Tuner). It was a little expensive becuase they charge labor by the flat rate manual for the tune even though it didn't take near the 3.66 hours that the book lists. In my opinion it was definately worth it because I now have a good source of information that shows the air / fuel ratio set by a harley dealership. Now if there is any engine damage, they can't throw out the warranty because they did the work.
Anyway, here is a printout of my dyno run after modifications. I don't have a factory baseline because I had installed the pipes myself before going to the shop.
Hey thanks for posting. I have a stock 06RK with same config. I've not dyno'd it but I suspected I 'd be pulling 72lbs max tq. Check out the other posts related to an Andrews 21cam. Guy has same config without doing the heads and pulled high 80's low 90's thru normal riding powerband. Pretty respectable for just a cam change.
Could you please tell us what year and model bike ? I had some trouble open the adobe reader on my p.c., also what were your final hp and torque numbers.
Thanks....

look at it real close....the AFR is set at 13.8 or so at 100% throttle position,This should be at 12.5:1 or 12.8:1.Where are the 0%, 2%, 5%, 7%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 40%, 60%, and 80% runs with the AFR line ?
Note, for comparison consideration, that the dyno was using the old, more optimisticSTD rather then today'sSAE for an HP/TQatmospheric correction factor.

doc, what do you think of the stock motor making peak tq at 4400 rpm and hp still rising at 5800?
Hey that is a great 100% throttle graph, no augment here, I'm just saying there are 12 more places the tune is to take place and most people that call themselves tuners not know that.
