Bike has been running great until after I fueled today. Within 10 miles the bike began cutting out during exceleration under torque and on occasions it would try to cut out when taking off from a stop. The bike would try to die out when I would crank on the throttle between cruising speed and wide open, but not all the time.
I managed to get home ok and siphoned as much of the gas I could and replaced with gas I had in a gas can from another station for the mowers.
It does idle a little high and without warning the idle went up to 2500 rpms and held there... I was able to get the bike to idle back down by rev'n it, but it is still idleing around 1200.
I have looked in the owners manual as well as a repair manual and neither mention anything about fuel filters or fuel pumps or fuel/air sensor
Put in good premium fuel and run it for a while and see if it clears up. If it doesn't then I would suspect that your problem is not fuel related and was only a coinsidence. Get some brake cleaner/ carb cleaner etc. and while it's running spray around the intake at the heads. If your idle changes then you have an air leak at the manifole/throttle body. My friend and I were riding and stopped at a light and I looked over and saw his air cleaner boucing up and down. His o-rings were shot and everything was loose!! That's the worst one I've seen.
I hope it's just water in the fuel.
Good luck.
Just had the intake O-rings replaced last month and check with starter fluid today just in case and that checked out ok.
Its acting like its running lean. I'm also curious as to what would cause the engine to idle up to over 2500 rpms by itself and hold there until I rev'd it.

Throttle position sensor may need cleaning ? Or may be bad.
Sudden high idle is a good indication that the Head Temperature Sensor has failed and the ECM thinks the engine is cold and it sends more fuel. The sensor is located on the top of the front head. You may have to raise the tank to replace it.
