Default Fuel Filter Question

I have a '00 Road King Classic with EFI and with a in the tank fuel filter. Does any body know if this is a high pressure line that goes to it? I'm going to replace the filter, but the replacement filter from HD cost $93. If it's not a high pressure line I'm going to just get a filter from NAPA. Thanks for any help

You can't get a filter from NAPA, the fuel filter is nothing to fool with, it's on the high pressure side, spend the money on the harley filter. Also don't reuse the canopy screws, they have special sealing washers and must be replaced everytime. Do it right, cutting costs here can cut your own throat.

I didn't know the screws needed to be replaced. You are talking about the bolts that hold the lid where the vent tube goes in the gas tank right?

I'm talking about the screws and washers that you have to remove to pull the fuel pump assy. out of the tank. On the RK and other dressers , you remove the dash console. Then you see the large oval cover . Thats the one where the screws and sealing washers are. You can't just buy the washers, it all comes together in a kit. Those sealing washers are designed for one time use only. If you reuse the old ones, you are running the danger of a fuel vapor leak, or if the bike lays over, a liquid furl leak.

When you say it all comes together as a kit I suppose you mean the gasket and the bolts, right?

Very interesting information. I just painted my tank and reassembled it using the parts I took off, didn't even think about them leaking but now I might need to re-think that.
