Question Oil Pressure Check/ Gauge for TC88?

I was wanting to do a before and after oil pressure check before I install SE cam plate/ oil pump. Reading the manual, you take out the oil pressure sending unit near the oil filter and replace with a HD oil pressure "rig" ; an adapter and banjo bolts etc. Seems like a lot of trouble and expense just to check the oil pressure one, not to mention the availability of the HD set up.

You guys know any other practical ways to measure oil pressure on a Road King TC88 without the HD adapter/banjo set up?

Does someone make an "accessory" oil pressure gage I can just leave on the bike (thinking like the small head-bolt mounted oil temp gage).

Any guage made for that service and in that range will do. It will check the pressure.
Now having said that, not every guage or rig would be something I would want to leave in place there. One thing to check the pressure and another to leave in place. Well designed unit made to leave in place and use over time just will cost more. And of course crome plating is expensive.
The thing with a TC engine design is one way to keep an eye on the engine health is to watch the oil pressure over time. Has to do with the oil pump and crank arrangement. Any problem there (sissoring) will show up first more that likely by the crank end eating up the pinion bushing in the cam plate. Oil pressure starts dropping

i bought the harley guage.
mounts to the rockerbox and a line runs down to the where the sending unit goes in.
you end up removing the sending unit and installing an adapter fitting, then reinstalling the sending unit to the adapter.
works fine for me and relativly cheap. 30 or 40

Looks like 75133-99 for $79.95 from the HD site. Wish I would have thought about this earlier so I could skeeze 20% off.... snip, how hard was it to retrofit with S.S lines? Here goes another $85 bucks. Oh well, its only money

easy really. i got the tubing from leftover we had at work, can be bought from grainger i think. its not braided hose, its tubing. made a patern with a welding filler rod, and then coppied the patern. tee fitting at the pressure switch is upsidedown, line runs under cam cover and along the frame to tee. nice fit and no issues in 3 years. note: i did this on a 2000 fatboy with rigid mount motor. dont think it would be any different on a non-rigid model. i just did'nt like how the original line just went from the gauge to the tee in a straight line which was "just long enough". not much extra. you'll see. i believe there are braided lines out there. have fun. steve

I bought a cheap $15 dollar Sun oil pressure gauge from Auto Zone. Harbor freight had an awsome gauge with adapters, tees, black thick hose , but noot in stock up here. I plumed the cheapie up and tie wraped it to the crash bar. Good enough for now. Stock is running Idle: 25 PSI cold and 43 PSI @ 3000 RPM cold. Slightly lower hot.
