S&S Super E
I'm trying to tune my fathers 1200 Sportster and I'm having trouble with throttle response. The bike runs well and pulls like a motherF#@$er but when the throttle is bliped from idle, it has a hesatation. It's not too bad but I want to get it right on. What do you guys think. And thanks for the help.

I did adjust it and this is where it runs the best. I checked the plugs and after 100 miles they look brand new so I will go up with the intermediate jet and re-adjust. If I make it richer, hopefully it will end this problem.

Have you adjusted everything according to the S&S instructions? You can download them from their site. A dyno run would help a LOT, if there is one in your area. How old is the carb? It might need a rebuild, or you might have an intake leak that is causing problems. It does sound like an accel pump adjustment, though. One thing I have done to most of my S&S carbs is to add the Yost Power Tube. It completely eliminated all hesitation that some of them have, even when adjusted correctly. It's something to consider.
