Last summer I brought my 1990 883 in to have the seals replaced (all the way down to the base gaskets) and now after I ride 5 or 6 miles I lose top end power and the bike blows about 3/4 of a quart of oil out of the air box.
I rode the bike from 90 to 96 without fail, put on about 20,000 miles, sold it, bought it back in 2000 with lots of leaks and 23,000 on it. They also replaced the choke cable, plug wires, and air filter.
The bike did sit all year from 07 to 08, however it ran just fine from 00 to 06, even though I only put on about 1,000 miles a year.
