Rocker end play
My Evo started to make noise. Narrowed it down to the front cylinder rocker. I believe the specs are .005 to .012 end play. Mine is .009 within the specs but I can push it from side to side and hear it knock. Is maybe the bushing bad?

What kind of noise are you getting? My TC88 has been making a noise like lifter tap for a long time. It's definately comming from the top of the engine and comes and goes becomming real bad near 5k. I've suspected excessive rocker arm end play as the bike has almost 70k on it, but have never taken it apart to check it. Are the bushings replaceable?

The bushings are replaceable. The noise is like a loose lifter. Right now I dont know what I got. The end play is .009 which is within specs. I decided to readjust the pushrods. But no matter how many turns i put on it once it bleeds down where you can turn it by hand, I can move the rocker sideways and get the noise. I replaced the lifter, but now I cant get any turns on the pushrod. If I put 1 turn on the push rod it never gets loose enough to rotate with my fingers.
