My neighbor brought his 2001 carbureted Fatboy over the other day (I didn't even know he had a motorcycle). He said it quits at lights and stop signs when he lets off the throttle. He said he really hasn't ridden it in 2 years. I am now assuming that the gas in the tank is 2 years old and also assuming there is no stabilizer in it.
I drained the tank, flushed with new gas, filled the tank and added Seafoam, 1 oz per gallon, gave the carb a few good shots of carb cleaner.
I rode it around for about an hour so about a gallon of fuel was run through it and it still sputters and occasionally stops.
Will this correct itself with more of the Seafoamed fuel is run through it or is it better to have the carb cleaned?
