Default D&D Ghost Pipe Install

Did a search to see if someone may have run into this issue yet on a 07/08 install but came up blank. Dropped my bags off last week to have the HD Extensions painted and installed on the bags as well as getting my inner fairing painted. Figured It might look bad with extensions and no left pipe, so I bit the bullet and ordered the Fatcat matching 07 Ghost Pipe. Anyhow, my brand new Ghost Pipe came without instructions. Errr, rather it came with instructions but they are generic instructions for "Installing a Full System" and a flyer on the warranty information on their chrome... A Full System was definately not what I was doing and the instructions don't even remotely address a Fatcat. I looked at their website to see if instructions were on there but couldn't find anything. So I figure, this can't be too bad since there are only a handful of parts in the installation bag. It looks like there is a rubber grommet with studs on both ends and a lockwasher and a nut for one side, two smaller long bolts with lock washers, washers, and spacers, one larger bolt with a lockwasher and a spacer.

So I logically look at everything and determine the large bolt replaces the lower swingarm bracket bolt on the driver's side and the lockwasher goes on the outside. The two smaller bolts go into the fake silencer from the top with lockwashers against the exhaust hanger, then the washer and spacer underneath (just like the right side Fatcat silencer). The rubber grommet mounts to the upper exhaust bracket on the pipe on one side and mounts to the stock exhaust bracket that is bolted to the primary on the other side. Pretty straight forward, no hardware left over.

Now for my question.. If that's how it installs, how in the hades do I get the upper pipe to line up with my Fatcat where it exits the head after mounting the silencer? When I leave the silencer off, I can get the pipe to line up as expected. Anytime I install the silencer, it pulls the whole system to the left and skews the mounting point at the head so that the "fake" pipe is visible and the shield doesn't line up. The only thing I see readily that I could possibly do is bend the bracket on the Ghost Pipe where it mounts to the swingarm bracket (or maybe up top at the head), but it's way too strong for bending with any type of grips and looks like I'm going to need to put it in a vice and maybe even apply a little heat. I've tried remounting it about 5 times now tightening the system from different starting locations each time and it's just not lining up at the top...

Am I installing this incorrectly or what? I was a bit shocked at the lack of instructions but I just don't see how the pipe can be off by that much when I install the silencer. Maybe I'm supposed to remove the heat shield or something? I dunno... Can anyone who has done an install on an 07 guide me here? I've got more time in the Ghost installation than I did the actual Fatcat at this point, LOL.

Thanks in advance for any help.
