Default popping on decceleration

i just purchased and installed a set of vance & hines turned down tip slip-ons on a 2000 road king classic. i like the sound of the pipes but when i roll off the throttle i get a lot of popping sounds mostly around in the low gears. what would be my next step to try and eliminate these sounds? also could any damage result to the motor? the bike is completely stock except for the slip-ons. any info would be grately appreciated.
thanks

I currently have SEII slip-ons on my F/I Deuce and have the same experience. From what I have learned (and am getting ready to do myself) installing an engine management system (assuming the bike is fuel injected) like a Power Commander or Screamin Eagle Race Tuner will alleviate your problem. You will probably want to install a high flow air cleaner kit as well to let your engine fully breathe. I ordered my Power Commander III from www.pipecity.com and they are downloading a map to complement my set-up, but I will probably have a custom map installed by a dyno-tuner.

I put on the Cobra fi2000 fuel processor which solved all my problems. It is adjustable for future mods as well.

if you want to fix it yourself, get the pcIII. eastern performance for $277 free shipping. they can load the map for your setup for $10 extra or you can do it yourself. its very easy to installl. takes about 10 minutes even with no mechanical skills its super easy. and it will make you bike twice as fast. the pcIII has great performance. i love mine. i rode a bike the same year and setup as mine with just a download and the difference is amazing. the pcIII gives great throttle response. hope this helps
