Exhaust pipe question....

I had to remove the rear SE slip on muffler on my bike to weld the broken bracket and I looked inside only to see an empty muffler. No baffles. Now, I really like HD's that are loud, but I also don't like giving up me precious ponies. So here is my question: Can I use the lollipop set up I found in the archives by TCSTD to get some back pressure back in, or just leave well enough alone? Tim

if your bike is stock leave it alone. your not going to gain HP with baffels in you gain torque you lose HP up top with them in but gain torque down low.

Well, I went to the local hardware store and bought the parts for the "lollipops" and made them. I am a little surprised but after I installed them, and went for a ride, I can report that they actually gave my bike a little stronger pull. It used to come alive at 70 or so and now it started pulling hard at 55. Also it felt stronger, more vibration, down low. Although, the results aren't dramatic, I feel it was positive and I only spent 65 cents. The position is 90 degrees. I might try going to 45 and see if anything happens.
