Default oil pressure

Hey guys I need some help. I have an 05 Ultra Classic and on a trip to California the oil light came on and the oil pressure dropped to 0. We removed the dip stick and saw that oil was circulating so I rode it to the dealer. I asked the dealer to check my oil pressure and the tech told me the pressure was fine and the oil pressure switch was bad. Since there were fifeteen other guys waiting for me, I bought a new switch and figured I'd replace it when I got home. I drove another 1200 miles with no motor issues. I installed the new switch but I still have the same problem, oil light stays on and oil pressure reads 0. If I rev the motor to 2500 RPMs the oil light will go out and the needle on the oil pressure guage will move a little but as soon as it idles down the light comes on again and the pressure reads 0. Any ideas?

I thought about that, but I hate to buy another new switch just to find out.

Pull the new switch, attach an adapter and connect a guage that you know is good; you either have pressure or you don't. If you don't, pull the cam plate and check the pressure relief valve; it coud be sticking in the open position.

Are you still running the original cam tensioners? If so, have you checked them for wear lately?

I checked the ohms on the new switch. The manual states that it should read 0 ohms from the pin closest to the clip to the crankcase. I'm not getting 0 so I believe the new switch is bad. To be on the safe side I'll rig up a gauge to check the oil pressure. Thanks.
