Default Carb Access

looking at a new flht. may go efi or carb, depends on price. How much of a pain in hte butt is it to get access to the carb to rejet. On my 2 stroke dirt bike all you do is pull the tank loosen the clamps and spin the carb. easy as pie. On my 4 stroke dirtbike you have to pull the tank, remove the exhuast pipe, loosen the rear subframe and remove the throttle cable and other bs and pull the carb from the bike just to get at it. It's a pain in the ***.

If i go with a carbie how much of a pain in the *** is it to reject.

if you are just changing the jets; remove air cleaner, 4 float bowl screws. I can get to the slow jet, main jet and mixture screw from the bottom of carb with short screwdrivers without removing any other parts, 5-10 min job to change jets. you could do it without removing the ac, just makes it easier to see what you are doing. to get to the main jet needle and slide, I take off the seat, air cleaner and 1 bolt at rear of tank to raise the rear of the tank.

If you have to change the needle, you can just lift up rear of tank and prop up with a piece of wood or similar. If you do that and slip the carb off intake while usuing a short philips head, theres planty of room.
