Default Advice needed from the cam experts

I have purchased a set of Crane HTC300-2 cams for my 2010 FLHX to go along with my Fuel Moto package: 2-1-2 head pipes, mufflers, a/c and PCV.

Crane HTC300-2 specs:
Lift:- .505/.505
int close:- 33/14
duration: 226/236
overlap:- 27
TDC lift: .147/.152
Lobe centre: 100
Lobe sep: 102.0

So my question is - will this cam work well with my bike setup? (couldn't find any dyno graphs)...

Should I change over to the Woods TW6-6?

Thanks for any advice. I ride 99% solo through all rpm slow and fast.

I think this would be a fairly gentle cam where you won't get much difference to stock - the pipes/filters are going to do more for you.

The Woods cam you mention has a bit more going for it. It sounds like you want an all-purpose cam and Woods will give plenty of early power and has benefits elsewhere too. It closes later than the Crane cam so should rev out a bit better.

Its a good cam it will work good. But the Woods t6 cams would be little. better. Tman 525 is even better. My cents....

IMO it's a bit late to ask if they are a good cam profile as you already bought them. LOL!

They will work just fine for the application. After you install them, get the PCV tuned properly (canned maps are good for bad fuel mileage but good to get to a competent tuner) and then make you own evaluation of your choice.

Thanks for the reply. I don't know much about the T-man 525, it seems everyone has the Woods cam!!.... do you have any links to a dyno graph of the T-man525 cam performance on a 96" motor?

Yes, I already bought them! possibly an expensive mistake, but even more expensive mistake to pay labour to install them pay for dyno tune and THEN decide to change cams...

How will you determine if it was a mistake without tuning them in to your build?
Until the tune is right you haven't a clue as to whether it was a good move or not.
Kinda like eating the dough and determining if the cake would taste good before its baked.

Yes, you are right I don't know until I tune them in. But the whole point of my post was to determine "how the cake would come out" before actually baking it (to use your metaphor) by getting other peoples greater wisdom and experience.

It will be much more $$$ if I pay for the install and dyno tune of these cams only to be disappointed and have to pay again for installation and tuning of a second set of cams!

I bought these cams based on reading articles and recommendations from posts on this and other sites, but after reading sooooo much about the Woods 6-6 cams I am second guessing my decision.
