Could this have bent a valve? I was getting ready to change out my rocker boxes on my 2004 FLHT when I had this problem. I had my spark plugs out and was finding TDC with the pencil method watching it rise. This is the real dumb part.....I didn't realize that a part of the pencil broke off and I continued to turn the rear wheel and now I have a bigger project. I took the head off and found the part of the pencil that broke off flat as could be and I mean real flat. I could see where the valve had press it down,but it looks fine. How would I know for sure if is damaged in any way. I will never check TDC this way again...I will learn from this mistake.
