My wife actually commented that my bike didn't sound quite as loud after I put on the duals. Go figure.
I honestly thought the same thing, but my wife claims it got louder. I don't think it is loud at all. I can hear her [:'(] and the radio when going down the road [&:] All I can say is just install the pipes and go for it. I honestly was in the same predicament as you. I put the slip ons on and was afraid to install the duals. I am happy. It does flatten out at 60 just for a bit, but I am still happy.

Dawg...thanks! I'm having them installed, with a race tuner and Dyno tune tomorrow. I just got off the phone with the Service Manager that I've known pretty well for several years and he said I would never regret going this route from any of the perspectives I mentioned earlier. He said with the Race/Dyno and the pipes, I'd never look back. So...away we go. Not sure why this has been such a big deal to me other than the fact that I haven't been dissatisfied at all with the slip on's, except for a bit of sound. One more question to you though....my carb'd Fatboy used to get a bit "flat" around 70 with SE Heads, 95" and Thunderheader and I hated it. Can you describe what that flat spot feels like to you...dead throttle response...lag...??? Do you pull through the flat spot with more throttle all the way to full throttle? Guess I'm trying now to note where I need to have the dyno guy pay the most attention. Have you had your bike tuned on the dyno?

Thanks again for all the feedback!
It kinda feels like dead throttle resonse and lag. Like you stated, I throttle through it with more throttle. I have the Fuelpak instead of the PCIII or SERT so I am not able to have it tweaked on a dyno. I am planning on having the bike put on dyno just to see where my numbers are at with this setup though. My duals where they come out of the jugs under the heat shields are turning gold and purplish and this is with not too many miles on after the install so I think I might be a little lean. When I get it put on the dyno I am going to talk to them to see what they think and I might end up going with a PCIII. Since this is my first bike I am not sure just what the bluing is supposed to look like. I know that when I took my stock exhaust off the pipes under the shields were all black, blue, gold and what have you in various areas. All in all I don't think you will regret putting on the duals.
Just did a 500 mile trip with them on a 2008 Ultra. They come off tomorrow. I did a careful installation and the vibration is brutal. I should have known ..... same result on the Dyna I had.
