I am looking to change the exhaust on my 07 FLHTC to a bub 7 setup. My question is, should I go with true duals with crossover, or just slip ons? The only thing done to the bike is a stage 1 kit. I am worried with the larger diameter headpipes i will lose back preassure and in turn lose a lot of low end torque.
Does anyone have any advice that can guide me a little?
Depends on what you're going for. If you just want the sound go for the slipons put em on, and call it a day.
The Bub headpipe will flow better than your stock pipes but will also need a set of mufflers bolted to them. If your engine is otherwise stock, no cam, etc, there will be some power gain but don't expect a night and day difference. You might pick up somewhere around 5hp give or take.
To answer you original question: The bike will be just fine with the Bub header. It'll run and sound great. Just remember a good header is useless without a good set of mufflers attached to it.
Thats nice you can get a good deal, but its not very well suited to your application at stock 96" displacement. Must be a reason Bub doesn't make those anymore, just a thought.

I was kind of thinking the same thing, but thought someone would know better than me.
