Default Temperature and idle question.

Bear with me on this one but i`m curious about a idle issue. On my 01 RG with fuel injection i have the idle set at 950 when the engine is hot, like after a ten mile ride or more. When i stop say for gas and start the bike back up it idles at 1100 for a few minutes then drops back to 950.
I don`t know if my bike has a heat management system but if it does is the bike actually getting hotter after shutting it off and the computer is kicking the idle up so it has more oil flow to cool it or is it cooling off and the temp. sensor (if it has one) is making it idle higher.
Forgive my ignorance about all this and appreciate all explanations.

Bike is stock 88 with 33,000 miles

Let me ask in a different way, does your twin cam 88 with fuel injection return to the same idle rpm every time you start your bike other than the first cold start.
Or does it fluctuate a little.
Thanks

part of the engine management is for a richer fuel mix at start when the engione is hot. A rich mixture runs cooler. Yes there are temp sensors.
