Default Performance filter

I just installed V & H BSS on my '06 Fatboy F/I. I'm hardly a wrench, but the install went smooth. I also picked up the V & H fuelpak. It says I need a performance air cleaner with the fuelpak, but I'm unsure if I need just a filter or if I should go with a whole kit. Any suggestions?

With the engine otherwise stock, probably no need to run right out and spend $120 on a filter. Remove the football cover, and drill some 1" holes in the plastic backing plate. Put the footbal back one. If you're really worried about it, add some holes to the bottom of the football. You've now double the air flow capacity of the stock cover. And it was free.

You're still stuck with the stock small paper element. But if you havn't changed the cam or displacement, you don't really need to.
