Default des this look right?

So i went to put my andrews 4* advance in today, tear it down, throw it in and this is where Im stuck. it did not come with any instructions, I cannot find any online so I am at your mercy. first off I assume if I want to advance the timing I put the +4 out, is that right? second Does this picture look right, It is either 1/2 tooth forward or back, it will not line up with the original mark. or did i just f something up? thank you.

doesnt look right, the dots should line up. looks like you are a tooth off. the +4 i built into the gear at the crank. you need to line up the marks (dots)

There is no way to line it up. The dot is not in the center like before, if I move it one tooth back, it is behind the mark by 1/2 a tooth. I guess I'm going to call Andrews on Monday and ask.

The 4 goes out but you are off a tooth because the crank is advanced and you want the cam advanced

Looks like he's either +3 or +5. LOL Tuff call without feelin' where the dot is when the chain slack runs out.

Looks like he is off one tooth toward the right though.

Once the crank gear timing mark is straight up, you will see that the cam gear timing mark is advanced 4*(clockwise). That is why it is not lined up.

I’m no expert, but I think you should have the crank gear TDC dot to the left of the cam plate timing mark, not to the right as you have it now. I say this because, if the crank gear dot was to the left of the cam plate timing mark and then when you turn the real wheel a little clock-wise to align the crank gear timing dot to the cam plate timing mark, you’ll see that the primary cam gear dot is advanced, ie to the left of the cam plate timing mark. Meaning, the intake valve will close earlier relative to the position of the piston, ie, advanced timing. But calling Andrews Monday morning sounds like the safe thing to do and then let us know what they say. I even search the web as you did and can’t find any definitive answers.

Take the chain off and then line up the dots then install the gears and chain with the dots lined up and it should all go together.
