Kiwifulla. That sounds exactly like what my bike is doing. I don't have time to get my bike to anyone right now. Could you share what your mechanic finds?
I did not get it to the mechanic last week but i am taking it there on tuesday , the fault codes i have are
P0132
P0152
B1006
B1007
not sure if that is the problem or not
My service manual showed the location of the IAC, so I must have one. W/O the service manual, I wouldn't know what a IAC looked like if it was sitting on the end of my nose!
I searched around this site after my question, finnally found most of the info I was looking for. Sprayed a liberal dose of carb cleaner into the hole in the top of the throat ( into the business end of the IAC I assume) as well as on the butterfly and surrounding parts. Had a heck of a time getting bike to run at first after that, but I prevailed. Also been adding some Lucas fuel treatmant (not an endorsement, its what I had on the shelf) with every tank, so far I believe I can proclaim the whole fix a success.
I tryed the carby clean and it worked for a little while so i just went and replaced the IAC and have done 400km and not a problem yet , fingers crossed .
