You could try using a stethoscope to help isolate where the noise is coming from ... I'm referring to the mechanic's version that has a metal probe on the tip ... place it on the area of the motor you suspect the noise is originating and move it around some or try different points to determine the source ... where the noise is loudest ....

Crank runout is how far out of round the end of the crankshaft deviates from its specs ... a micrometer is set on the crankshaft where it extends out into the cam chest (where the oil pump and cam plate mount) and the motor is turned over ... the '05 should not exceed ~0.002 or it could be indicative of a problem ....
