Default 1999 fxdx
Hey y'all I'm a newbie here and here is my first question. I just bought this 99 FXDX from a guy and for the last few years he didn't ride it very much at all (back problems). He said he cranked/rode it every so often. He said he rejetted the carb. ( don't know the sizes). I'm sure Memphis Choppers did it for him, so I assume the right sizes were installed. When it has warmed up and I'm riding I have to leave the enrichment valve slightly out or it will miss when holding a steady speed (just every once and a while) not under acceleration. I changed the plugs and pulled the bowl off the carb to check for any trash or deposits. It was clean in the bowl. What should I check now? Have the carb rebuilt? Only 10K miles on the bike.

Sounds like you need to up the pilot until that is gone.

Do you think the pilot maybe a little stopped up?

Yep. The pilot holes are tiny and it doesn't take much to restrict the flow. Take it out, clean it and blow it out with your air compressor.
