Hello all, I am new to harley's. I did a search but came up with no answer.
My question is the outlet to the mufflers are different colors due to the exhaust. The right side looks like it did brand new. And the left side is all black and sooty. The bike is new with 588 miles on it.
Is this anything to be concerned with?
Is the bike stock, or have any engine mods been done? Since you've mentioned left and right, you probably have a dresser of some sort? Without any engine mod info I say not to worry about it. Black is on the rich side (better than being too lean) and the difference (with those low miles) probably is just the fact that the rear cylinder typically runs a little hotter than the front in a V-twin. The "flow may also no be perfectly equal if there's still a factory pipe crossover in the exhaust system...especially on a dresser. I'm no expert, but that's my .02.
