Default Throttle Body question

I have an 06 Night Train that I am taking to 98" with woods 6 cam and decided to go with Stage 3 heads. To maximize my head flow, I called HPI about opening up my throttle body to 48" and opening up the intake runners, they told me they can go about 1.7". Would going this route be suffucient for my build or should I just purchase a HPI 51MM or SE 50MM throttle body? If I go the SE route would the intake runners be large enough or do I have to have them opened up as well? Thanks

The SE throttle body would be more than enough for your build and is a relative steal compared to buying an aftermarket TB.

Don't get me wrong, the HPI units are very nice but really not necessary for your build unless you are racing this and trying to get the last .001 sec out of the engine.

Which ever you choose send the manifold to your head porter to have them port matched. I'm using a S/E 50mm throttle body and the manifold openings were slightly larger than 1.7"
