Any potential pinging problems?
Gentleman; I don't mean to hi-jack this thread. I am also considering a 103 build for my 08 Street Glide. I would definitely want to stay under 10:1 comp. Could someone please explain the difference between " static and corrected compression". Thanks in advance. Again, I don't mean to hi-jack the thread....
As others have said, tuning is the key. Once you get north of 195 CCP, you can see issues for differing fuel quality, elevation, ambient air temp, etc. I ran my 120" at 220ccp all over the US, but had different tunes set up to load depending on where I was. For the average rider, just not worth it IMO.
You can get a bike at 9.0:1 to ping with a crappy tune.

Static CR is simply a volume calculation based on bore and stroke. Corrected, or dynamic compression, is running compression; what the engine sees during operation based on the position of the piston in the cylinder when the intake valve closes. Static CR remains the same for a given bore and stroke but corrected compression will change with the intake timing of the selected cam.
