I got a pair of spare black 96 jugs sitting on the shelf, ready to bore them out for some 107 flat top pistons. Do I have to install compression release? Is it possible to crank the motor without ACR? Tell me your story
Depends on came and dynamic compression and static compression and compression ratio. Jamie told me with the 107 and 555 combo I will be fine but $50 to have the heads machined im going to do it anyways.

Agreed. It's build specific.
The need for compression releases usually comes in around 10:1 and up static ratios, but it really depends on your build items to accurately determine.
I have a 106 kit sitting around waiting for me to install it but I figured ill get my heads p&p'd and add compression releases better to be safe than sorry
can't hurt to put em in. better now than later, and it will be easier for your battery to crank your starter. plus they are cool to have when other guys don't hehe
No it's not mandatory, yes it's highly recommended. Manuals are a piece of cake to install, automatics will cost a little more to have done. If you're gonna build it do it right the first time.
