hypercharger installed
just put one on a 04 softail,went ok but it want ideal very well,does it need to be rejeted or adjust the carb i enjoy working on it but im not a wrench just learning.

Do you have a service manual? If the engine, intake and exhaust were all stock, you were running lean and now you're running even more lean. Stock jets are 45 slow, and 185 main (I think). The numbers are stamped on them. You may be able to get the right mix by adjusting the a/f mix screw and not changing any of the jets.In order to do that, you'll have to drill the plug off the a/f mix screw (very carefully so as not to damage the brass screw underneath) , then turn it all the way in, not too tight, and then turn it out to 2 1/2 turns and see how it idles. If the idle goes up, you'll have to adjust the idle mix screw. As you turn the a/f mix screw in or out, eventually the idle speed will slow. You want to keep the screw at the midpoint between the 2 points where the idle drops. If there is a 190 main in the carb, that should be good and you could go to a 46 slow jet but the 45 will work in a stock engine.
