Engine mount replacement
Tried to search but couldnt find it in manual or on this site. I need to know what the steps are to replace the front lower engine mount. I have the engine supported on a jack, removed main center bolt and two side bolts and yet the engine is still holding pressing down on it. do I need to lift engine higher? will it move as i keep jacking or do I need to loosen/remove other bolts/mounts on the rear of the engine/crank/tranny components.
thanks!
thanks!
ok, figured it out... loosened the two bolts that hold the engine to the top of the engine mount, this gave the plate enough room to lift up and let the mount go sliding underneath it! all back together now and tight! engine vibration gone!
I was about to ask what bike when I noticed the small print under your name ... I am assuming your questions and subsequent resolutions referred to your 2001 Road King ...??
I haven't looked closely at my service manual to see if it discusses the procedure for replacing the motor mounts ... guess this info might be helpful for me if, as and/or when it comes time for me ...
