Default Crankshaft Question

Will a Crank from a late model 96" B engine fit in an older 88" B engine ?

Short of pistons to compensate for the stroke difference ,will it work ?

It's a Harley part# 23912-07a that I'm able to pick up ,for next to nothing.

Crank might be cheap but getting it to work will be expensive; if your pockets are deep enough, you can do anything. A couple of things to consider:
-If the 88" cases are '02 or earlier, no go because of the Timken crank bearing and the 96" cases were set up for the roller crank bearing.
-The early primary is completely different and will not work with the later crank.
-IIRC, the later counter balance assembly is a bit different from the early assembly but not sure what the differences are.

Even if the 96" crank is free, you will spend a lot of money getting it to work. Better off buying the stroker crank to fit the early cases; less money and headaches.
