backfiremissfire and noisy spool up
I have a 2007 FLHTCU. I was just coming over Snoqualmie pass on the way home from a 3700 mile trip to SE Utah...sort of going downhill on the freeway...went to pass a few cars while snapping the throttle open and just missfire...backfire...runlikeshitfire...only on full throttle...runs fine while idling along even at 80mph??? Today when I turned on the ignition, I hear an excessive "spool-up" noise when the pump is priming the system...normal but really loud compared to normal??? One person said maybe the leak is internal and to open the tanks cap and look inside with a flashlight...while turning on the ignition look for spray...I did see some spray on the backbone part of the tank.
???? ANY SUGGESTIONS??? Is it the pump or just a loose hose inside the tank and if so a loose hose...how the F__K did it come loose?

1 clamp hose, on e8mm clamp, 10 sealing screws, pair of fuel hose clamp pliers, FUEL FILTER KIT (W/hose $68.25), Top Plate Gasket, and CHECK VALVE ASSY (W/Hose $61.55) Totaling just about $190.00 Not to mention the close to $60.00 it cost for oil and filter. PIRATES is what they are.
Here's my complaint: First off, this never ever should have happened...a leak in a hose??? In a tank...for fuel injection? And then so it does go bad, and instead of sort of covering their ***, and making the customer feel better about their engineers dumb mistakes, they just charge us like Ten times what it should cost to fix the problem. I have to buy a CHECK VALVE to get a hose that is the culprit? This should be a Recall!
I am so tempted to buy a Goldwing...But I won't...well maybe not...shoot all my leather would look funny on one of those candy pops.
