Default Engine Died

Hope I can get a little advice.
My 09 Sporty 883 has been babied since I got it 16 months ago. But ever since then I have experience a dying problem. I will be going down the road and as I prepare to stop the engine dies, the speedometer goes to zero but the mileage or time continue to be displayed. Id I continually rev the engine I can keep it going but if I don't it dies. Once I come to a complete stop I can turn the key off and restart and go on down the road like nothing happened.

Any one ever experienced anything like this and if so how was it solved?

Have you ever adjusted the idle speed? Might be the easy answer.

Check battery cables could be a loose connection

Battery cables are tight and the idle speed seems fine I have not had a tech do anything to it in a couple of weeks.
