Have a 2011 FLH and looking at both the Woods Bro's TW-222 and TW-6-6 Cams. Engine is stock with V&H slip on's. Any suggestions ??? Also, would either of these cam kits require a compression release installed?
I just installed 555's in my 2010 and really like them.
There was a very slight loss in off-idle torque but the top end more than makes up for it.
This is evident by the need to slip the clutch a bit more to start from a dead stop without the throttle
(VERY slight difference - not riding the clutch - not a ridability issue)
So slight, it could be a tuning thing, but I'm guessing with the valve timing, it's an overlap thing.
Bike pulls hard to 6000+
(revving to 4800-5200 stock was just to make noise)
MPGs are up by about 10%
Lopey idle sounds coooooool
I have a 2011 SG with a Stage 1 upgrade. Here's what Gary Wallace, of Andrews Products Technical Support, told me when I asked him which cams he recommended for my setup:
"For the 96" engines in heavier bikes like your street glide, I like our 48H cam. The 48H cam matches the 96" engine and compression ratio and has great low end to mid RPM power."
I also like the OEMSE-204 cams.
For either of the above cams, compression releases are not required; however, it is recommended that you swap in SE Tapered Quick Install Pushrods and SE Inner Cam Bearings.
