Need some pointers on removing Fat Cat baffle
The exhaust was a bit quieter but not as quiet as I expected the quiet baffle.
I called you guys up at Eastern Performance and said you must have sent me the wrong baffle.
You insisted I had the quiet baffle, so I tried to live with it.
It got to the point that I figured I would try and quiet it down some more or have to shell out for another exhaust.
When I got the baffle out it was apparent that it was not the quiet one, so I ordered one from D&D.

When I called EP to complain that they had sent me the wrong baffle in the Fat Cat, they said that had sent me the quiet baffle which I had ordered.
I then did some more research and found a write up in American Rider back in 2007 that compared 2 of the Fat Cat baffles as far as performance, sound level etc.
They have an end view of both baffles. I looked in the end of my my muffler and it looked the same as the pictured quiet baffle, so I assumed Eastern Performance was correct and I was wrong.
I found the sound level to be annoying, but since I had just bought the Fat Cat and was assured this was the quiet baffle, I would try and live with it.
It got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore so I pulled the baffle to see if I could put more wrapping on it, if not I would buy another exhaust.
That was when to my surprise the baffle that came out was not the quiet but the regular that looks the same when looking into the muffler. Once it has been removed you can see that it is all metal and has no space to put sound deadening material.
Attached is the American Rider write up.
