I have been running the Big Shots Staggered with the original baffles cut in half. I started wearing a half helmet and need to get them toned down again. (I like it loud but my ears aren't so young anymore)
Thinking about the quiet baffles but all the comments say the don't make much difference from the original baffle. Are there any good options for a baffle that will bring it down just one more notch from the original baffle or stick with the Quiet Baffle? I am not familiar with the packing of the baffles or what it does exactly. Any help with that?
Last question. With the quiet baffles should I go with the DK Torque Inserts or will the baffles be enough for back pressure?

I just ordered a set of the quiet baffles. Judging by their design, I would think they will promote enough back pressure to work without the TTIs. You may well want to try the TTIs with your cutdown baffles, I found them to work very well by themselves. That may be just the ticket. For $20, it might be worth a shot.
I had the original baffles in mine for about a week. The sound of the pipes would give me a headache in about 45 minutes.
The quiet baffles didn't quiet the pipes so much as just change the tone. No problem now. I also have been running them for about 3 years now with nothing to create back pressure except the baffles. No problems that I know of.
Good input guys. What about the packing around the baffles? Is the purpose of that to help it be more quiet?
Plus, the TTI's will require drilling out the hole for the set screw since they are different sizes. Best I can tell I will have to remove the rear wheel to drill out the pipe. Kind of why I haven't installed the TTI's already.
Big Shots and Big Radius have about the same sound level right?
Wondering which is louder. As far as thwe packing, yea that is what helps quiet the noise. Don't dare remove the packing, it will sound horrible. Like a hollow sound.
I found a pair of the BCT QQ Thunder Monster baffles on CL. They aren't overly quiet when idling or rolling the throttle but toned down at cruise where I don't get a headache. Very happy with this combination.
I don't have many miles on it yet but the addtional back pressure seems to have made a difference in the low end and also minimized the popping I had before.
