Thanks to all who helped with my questions!
This is not a 'correct' bike, but I think I will have fun with it.
Serial number/belly number indicates a March 1945 build. Pretty sure it never left the USA.
Where the hell has it been for 75 years?
License plate will read: 45HRLY
Getting thru that inspection & registration process is the worst part of a restoration/build, but gives the most pleasure! Enjoy riding it, it looks great!
Don't know why you call it a bobber, nice looking restoration, even if not %100 "correct". Been a long time since I've ridden one, back when they were just surplus and old bikes. Thought the tank shift was fun to experience, but wouldn't want one for a daily rider. Always felt a little insecure with a foot clutch on a bike, liked to put it in neutral before stopping, just in case... I did some off roading with that bike, and even though it handled the dirt surprisingly well, that hard tail was a butt buster off road!
Imold,
I am afraid of the tank shift and the clutch.
I have a 2010 Dyna and it is hard to go from one bike to the other.
l live north of Atlanta and traffic is fairly heavy around here, so I am not looking forward to stop and go stuff
