triglide caliper failure

triglide caliper failure
have a 09 triglide had service performed at dealership and they adjusted the parking break. It was adjusted too tightly. while on a trip the caliper wore through the pads and into the rotor destroying the rotor ,pads, and the caliper. on the left side only. would this parking break adjustment cause this
