This could be the dumbest question of all time but I checked the User Profile and other areas and don't see how to set the timezone appropriately.
Go to your User CP and click on it,
scroll down to the section called Settings and Options,
scroll down that section until you see Edit Options, then click on that,
Scroll down until you see Date and Time, there you will find how to set your timezone.
