Default Reading long posts ?

Is there anyway we could enable reading the longer posts besides starting at page 3 ? When you hit 'last post', in order to read posts just before the last one you have to start back at page 3 to get to where you want. I have seen on other forums when you get to the last one you have the option to go to [for example] page 21 then page 20 and so on, and you can read your way back through the previous ones. Hope you can make sense of this 'ramble' lol. Thanks...b.

You have to log in, and if you haven't done it already, go to the user CP, select edit options on the left column, and disable "infinite scroll", near the bottom of the page. That puts the forum scrolling back to how it was before the current, really annoying to me, long page scroll. I didn't use to log in every time, but now I do. Progress...
