When are they going to get rid of related threads feature?
I have always been irritated by the related threads feature. Sometimes, Ill make a post, and later its not there. After I check my post history, Ill see its in the wrong thread. It happened to someone else yesterday.
The most annoying thing is rarely are the threads actually related. Heres an example: How are drive ins, and Worlds most popular armies related? BS.
I checked an option in the User Control panel to opt out of related threads, but I still get them on my phone.
It will get worse, not better in a world of social distancing. Many are home, unable to work, don't have a lot of money for gas, despite the lower gas prices, but most still have a way to visit this site. You are seeing boredom, cabin fever carried into the spring when normally we'd be working and riding and socializing.
It is no longer about the weather if we are going to ride.
I just pray you each have enough TP to make it. I suspect that topics will get even more off base as these shut downs continue to spread as governors don't want to be outdone by a neighboring state.
Pray for a vaccine, healthy friends and family, and learn to laugh at other people's boredom topics. It won't last forever, it will just seem like it is!
Not to hijack this thread but Do they need a stickey for merged threads too? That can be just as aggravating. Damn, i must be couped up to long because i am sounding like my wife

This frustrates me also. The disable related threads only works for desktop format, not the mobile. I have no idea why. My solution is to view in desktop mode most of the time, even on my phone.
I'm using a computer and that's how I got rid of the related thread issue too, it was easy once I found the right place to go.
The problem is it cant be turned off for mobile view, only desktop. The mobile version doesnt show avatars or signatures, is formatted better for a phone, and uses less data.
In mobile view I will be reading the coronavirus thread and scroll down too far and suddenly be reading about ladybugs. I know - first world problems.

Haha, perfect example, that doesn't belong here. I already turned off related thread features, but it doesn't apply to my mobile browser, like cowboydoc said. It is a totally useless feature, we were perfectly fine before it was added.
