Default VPN Question

I use NordVPN

When connected to a USA VPN server, this site blocks me. If I select any other country it works fine. No other site I visit does this. Odd.

Anyone know why this is?

we don't block VPNs but your free VPN is routing traffic through places that we do block for legitimate security reasons.

It has to do with the IP ranges rather than the country. Bad actors will use VPNs to obfuscate the origin of their traffic, so sites (not uncommonly) block those ranges. Sometimes they're temporary blocks, sometimes not.

we use a security provider called Cloudflare that protects us from DDOS attacks and such, they are the ones who block some VPN IP addresses, most typically if they transit via AWS at all. This is not something we even have the power to change.

Thanks for the explanation.
