Please forgive me for complaining about something that I get free. I know people work hard to keep this thing running. I'm finding this site to be so slow and quirky that I can't use it anymore without getting really frustrated. (I hope this post goes through.)
I've begun to play computer solitaire while I wait for pages to load. There's so much to love about this forum but it's slowed to the point that it's unbearable and it takes me ten minutes to get through just a couple of pages.
It wasn't always like this. I see other users complaining but I've seen no responses from the moderators or changes in the service. I know I don't pay for this but the sponsors sure do. Hopefully someone can address this.
Thanks for listening. I miss the "old" forum.
You don't state what kind of a connection you have but one thing that will help is Install either google Chrome or Firefox then add the extension Ad Block and you will be surprised how fast this forum will work.
Clear out your old cookies and history for your browser and check to see if you have Malware or adware installed on your PC. You can use Adware or spybot to check this. This stuff installs with out your knowledge.
I've done many of these things except switching my browser. I have a cable connection. The problem exists on every computer I have at home and at work and only on this site. I've spent hours clearing files. Nothing changes. Am I alone here or is there a real issue?
you need to go with the new Firefox browser and then download the ad blocker program for it.
This site is useless here as well in IE (and I'm on cable).
I use a mac and don't have HDForums specific slow loading. I am on a cable modem also. I think for me when I have issues it is an overloading of my local server not a HDForums issue. 5 minutes later it will be finer than frog hair.
