Can you possibly make it so people know they are posting to an Old thread. I saw a guy that posted today asking another person how they liked their pipes. However the Original Poster made the post 3 years ago.
Just something to tell people that the thread is old and they are probably barking up the wrong tree.
This is not an uncommon problem on successful forums. I belong to others that have addressed this issue in several different ways.
One has a pop up that tells people they are posting to an old thread. Asks if they wish to continue or not.
Another just highlights the date of hte Original Post in RED and has how old the post is. 1 year old, 2 year old....
I know enough to look at the OP post dates but many folks still are pretty new to the forums and just don't think to look at the dates before posting, on the other hand at least they are using the search function and digging up old info
You can check the 1st posting. In the upper left hand corner is the original posting date. Doesn't really matter anyhow. Sometimes you'll find answers after the fact. Sometimes not.
